Making a Mount/transportation Guide

I'm considering making a guide about the various forms of transportation avalable..now obviously we all know the differant forms Horses..boats ect ect, fairly well, but when I went to buy my first horse in Beta I was sorta stuck..I made the long trip to Khal..where I had heard there was a much nicer selection of horses avalible only to be struck dumb when attempting to decide just what one I'd like best..since theres none stabled at the merchants to look at and no descriptions when you mouse over them..so I went looking for screen shots of them on the web..all to no avail (yes I know some might think this a rather far length to go just for a horse..but I'm pickly about such things..after all you will spend much time riding about on your horse..so I feel its important to choose one that says something about you or maybe your character) I ended up with a light Grey horse..which wasn't all that light grey but i grew fond of it over time.

In any case It readily became apparant that there wasn't anything avalible to show off Mount colours, or Ship styles or the like, I saw several differant Galleons in the harbour last night..are they player choice or given out by race like the three horse models I've seen? (The slimer ones, the stiff maned ones & the Heaver build long maned types) Of course no one could really answer me..there was much confusion so I thought well..someone needs to throw together some screenshots and make a good guide on it all.

So what I'd like to do is start collecting screenshots from people of thier horses (for starter anyways..who knows there might be black or white griffens we haven't and won't discover for a while yet) and possibly some of the boats if anyone knows anything about it.

We'd need Screenshots for the horses of

Light Grey
Dark Grey
Sooty Brown
Dusky Brown
Pure Brown
Brown
I think there was a Dark Brown as well?
Theres White & Black models too..though I think only at high levels so don't know if anyone got the chance to see them yet?

In all three of the differant Model types (stiff mane,slim & Heavy Built)

Most people I know took tonnes of screenies during thier time in Beta, so if you have a Pic of your Horse, fill out the Form!

Afterwards I'll try and sort it all into some nice little guide type thing and voila! We've found out through a couple of other contributions..that the differant price points for some colours of horses are differant as well, so please include your horses price when submitting screenies.

Someone has also suggested we include Barding so..any pics of Leather or plate Barding would be most welcome as well =-)

Great idea! I had the same concerns... what the mounts look like and where to get them would be awesome info to have.

I must admit I was a bit surprised the 'stable' didn't have various horses around to look at. Oh well, maybe in a patch someday.

aqll i can say is i drooled over the horses.. i watched a side view of mine running in slow motion(stealth when riding)... gods they made a fantastic job in the movments and behaviors... their ears even twitch when standing still.

They really did do a good job. One recent change I could have done without is how we have terrible posture while riding now (shoulders bent foward), but that's by the by. Another that bothers me slightly for the taking of screenshots is that we sit like boards when the horse rears - gotta love the abs, but it's not realistic.

But hey, at least the horses look and move like horses. This is A Good Thing(TM).

yep and i watched the griffs... someone really, really paid attention to detail... i am so in love with the mounts.. and yeah i will get screens when i can

I've started something to this effect in our Mounts section. Only have one screenshot (as I could only afford 1 horse at the time and the sellback was only 10s or so)

Yes i love theway the horses look..I too am slightly bothered by our riding postures and the way we sit when rearing (I'm a rider in RL) but I can deal with it since the horses actually look and move like horses =-)

Good job on your mounts section =-) perhaps we can work to share whatever screenshots we manage to scrounge up =-)

Thanks, it's still a work in progress, as is everything in our Wiki Understandable because the game's not even out yet! Wiki dedicated to an MMO will always be a work in progress!

I'd love to work together, we'll see what happens!

These are the two light grey submissions I've gotten so far..as you can see theres a definate colour difference between the two costs, both are the slim type models as well..I haven't gotten any of the stiff maned of heavy set typpes (with mane on both sides of the neck) as yet to see if they're colours are different as well.
