Friesians are heavier than Andalusians iirc, but it's been a long time since I've been anything than an onlooker in the equine world, so I'm probably wrong. (By which I mean related but not identical.)

I believe the horses change based on the rider's race - not the location of purchase.

In earlier beta - I always had to go to Khal to get horse choices and I bought the same horses on a few after finding the color I liked and found the 'style' varied by race. Color seemed to be constant.

Dark Grey horses are the same color as light grey the difference being one has brown mane/tail other as cream/white mane/tail. Var quest horse in White with brown mane/tail and feathers (although you can see the white of the base model through the brown) All the "draft" horses have feathers the same color as their mane/tail. All large races have draft horse model. At least this is true as of the close of beta.
