I just re-read your question. I think I might understand now. Are you saying that you pre-ordered the game from EB, but that they were out of physical pre-order boxes, thus no key?

If that is the case have you tried revisiting/calling them to see if they have any more of the boxes in stock?

Did you get any kind of key via email with your preorder and have been in beta? If so, you can play after release in the live version until you get your retail key (after your store gets your order in).

If ordered @ EB in store, I'm not sure they can provide you a key (as they are in the sealed boxes). So no box no key I think. You would only get a key emailed to you had it been pre-ordered online I think. I could be wrong though, it is past my bed time and I'm still have not read like over 200 new threads. :confused:

Now you begin to see the problem. I have emailed customersupport@sigilgames, but I'm not too terribly hopeful. I mean, what can they do really. If EB can't get the pre-order boxes in...I'm kinda screw'd. I just though someone else may have experienced this situation and resolved it with Sigil so they could download it electronically after proving they had actually preordered it.

Oh well.

If they cannot get you a pre-order box, pull your money from them and find a vendor who can. Do you have any other options for brick and mortar stores? Have you thought about digital download?

I believe most pre-orders in the stores come with the "No refund" policy. So, unfortunately, until they receive in another shipment I don't think you'll receive a key.

If there are other EB stores in the area, you could check to see if they will honor the pre-order... hopefully, they do not limit it to the specific store location.

Well, let me see. No refund policy for a product they didn't deliver? Its amazing how fast they want you to leave with your $10 when you put up a bit of a fuss at the front counter.

The one problem (if you see it that way) with the digital download is I'm not sure you get all the stuff you would get with the boxed version, especially the Collectors Edition as you can't email maps, ect.

As for going to another store, that would be the route I would take. As for taking his money and not having the box is another. I have read posts on forum of people getting the pre-order boxes for free, as the money is for the "pre-order" technically, the box is "free".
