Re: Sigil you are a bit unkind to us in Europe

Thank you for your response Elrar. Would be greatful if you could tell us who will be providing support and Live events for the European servers? Will they be Sigil staff in the US or Europeans supplied by another company in Europe?

Alot of this is based on pre-orders.

I would not want more servers than I had fellow gamers. If they get more people than expected, they'll get more servers up.

Is isn't a EU vs. US argument, just pointing out that you don't want more servers than you have players.

Back on the original topic, I never understood why they didn't get their EU customer support group going during beta. It's help them get up to speed and it'd solve this problem here.
Okay point taken. But as we all know, SOE in particular has an awful reputation for not being very EU friendly if you get my drift. I just hope Sigil doesn't go the same way. The bottom line is, as Europeans, our money is just as good and they are happy to take our money.

Another question is why hasn't SOE/Sigil (whoever is in charge of marketing) advertised Vanguard intensively in the EU/UK?

Nothing has led me to believe that Sigil is anti European. Its more a case of concentrating on the home market. This is Sigils first game so they have an excuse. Sony I feel could have done more to highlight the market potentual.

Did you play EQ/EQ2? Because there were plenty of complaints from Europeans about the way they were "treated" (for the lack of a better word I guess, not long woken up, lol). I just don't want the same to happen here.

Brad may have worked on EQ1 but Sigil has nothing to do with EQ1 or EQ2 they are an independent company.

Jeez, I've never said they did. And I'm talking about SOE here really, not Sigil (servers/customer service etc).

But if Sigil is going to handle the events etc, then my main concern here is that while they'll have them on the US servers at appropriate times for the Americans, will they have them at appropriate times for Europeans on the EU servers?

I did not realize the NPC wasn't persistent, I assumed he was. It makes perfect sense why they didn't stay in that case, and I'm sorry for my assumption.
I know everyone at Sigil know what they are doing, it may be their first game together but they have more experience in MMO's together than anyone else in the biz. The server thing doesn't bother me, if they say one is enough one is enough.
'Pixie they will have them at appropriate times because they know now what to do with them and how they work.

Ah cool. I just don't want to see Europeans being left out in the cold.

Re: Sigil you are a bit unkind to us in Europe

I played AC2 on a Euro Server, I played Horizons on a Euro Server, I played EQ2 and WOW on Euro servers. I cant remember ever seeing a member of the Dev team on one of my servers and outside beta ever having big events on any of my servers. Horizons did have community projects which took place on all servers which our servers completed way ahead of US servers.

In most cases the local CS team were not able to handle awkward questions without referring to the States so you could wait 24 hours for a solution.

I do not know how things will pan out in Vanguard. Followed the game for 3 years and know Brad and team means well. I do hope this thread acts as a small reminder that we are customers and expect to get the same treatment as every other customer regardless of location.
