Animations!

This is one of the bigger things that lets me down in the game (as I am apparently the ONLY person in the world who dislikes the lack of a 24 hour, realistic day) and I was wondering if someone had heard something about fixing the animations for things such as oiling (currently the same as adding fuel to the fire) and smithing (currently I'm beating metal with a STOKER??)?

As I haven't crafted much I can't comment on those animations.

On the day topic however... you want the in-game day to correspond in a 1:1 ratio with a real 24 hr day?

I do wish they would make day last a bit longer myself. Maybe I'm wrong, or it just seems this way. But it's almost as if its dark for 1.5-2 hrs and then its daytime ..... for 15 minutes :P

A stoker? Wow, that's pretty bad. O_o

24 hour day is unrealistic though. Lots of folks log in at the same time every day and wouldn't have access to either night or daylight content.

I agree the crafting animations are a bit odd for one thing you can do them miles away from the repective stations .

AS for day night cycle.. the choice does seem like a missed opportunity. make a 10 hour day 4 hours night 1 hour dawn 4 hours day one hour dusk.

this would mean that someone playing the same time every day would get variation. It would also provide a realistic option of having night content and day content with dawn and dusk as change over periods.

I do understand that having very dark nights would be a problem with extended night times. WoW's nights were almost as bright as daylight with a moon in the sky.

Thats one thing I hated about WOW, the day night cycle. I almost always play in the evenings and it always was night time in WOW for me. I never got to see the light of day.

Vanguards day and night cycle is just right in my opinion. The night time in Vanguard is very dark and it would get annoying for me if too much time was spent in the dark.

Also hoping the mobs will do more than just lunge at me...that Lesser Basalisk animation is sad!

And also that weapons on the back will be better...I mean when I'm crafting my stoker is glued to my back, and so is my rangers bow when adventuring!

Well some of that stuff might be placeholders til they can get it in as well. Or maybe not. Just a though. Still got a few days of beta left, maybe they change em up before we hit live.

It's kinda sad that the animations seem to be in the same poor state they were a whole year ago when I started reading up on Vanguard.

Actually there alot better. More have been added. Anyways there going thru with realease as there running out of cash. Some of this was probally due to the Microsoft Buyout. Anyways once money starts flowing again stuff will be added. I dont see the first 6 months of live being much different than the last 3-6 months. Probbaly with a weekly update. Graphics being part of it.
