Hi,

Im in the UK too and have pre-orderd vanguard as a, erm, last minute thing (bullying by friend)

But Im thinking that if they only have one pvp and one pve server for EU they are maybe not expecting many EU players to begin with.

so rather than be on a deserted pvp server Im thinking of going a us one, but then I notice that the amount of pve servers compared to pvp servers!

so maybe they dont expect many people to play vanguard for the pvp, or maybe there just isnt much difference between servers. So, this got me thinking, I dont even know how the pvp works in Vanguard yet!

So er, Any information I can read up on exactly what differences there are between the pve and pvp servers?

In a nutshell:

PvE = Player vs Environment. These are normal "blue" servers

PvP = Player vs Player. Considered "red" servers, it's a fight to the finish, or can be. There are different rule sets for PvP.

All we know for sure is that there will be a Free-For-All server where you can attack anyone. Currently, there aren't level restrictions. I don't know if that will change or not.

We can safely assume that there will be a PVP-Teams server, if not at launch, then very soon after (this is most likely the unannounced server). Wood Elves/Raki team up with Thestra to battle the Kojani Empire and Qalia.

Why are those the teams?

My best guess is that they threw darts.

er, not really

is there any kind of pvp at all on a pve server? or is it strictly no pvp at all?

with the pvp servers, are there dedicated places for pvp or is it just envoiroment wide? are there two opposing factions who are at war, or can anyone fight anyone?

cant seem to find some reliable information about it.

I'd doubt they're throwing these gnomes around. The VG gnomes are mean. Especially when there are so many elves around. At least being used as projectiles gives elves some point.

Only dueling. Will that change in the future? Who knows?

In beta, the PVP server is open wide. Again, this could change.

Aye, the PvP servers right now are FFA = free for all. As in gnomes killing gnomes and goblins killing... gnomes.

The alt US server's ruleset hasn't been announced yet, and most definitely there will be more servers in the works post-release.

so being thise close to actual release deciding which server will be best is going to be pot-luck.

If this is the case, do we know if there will be a character transfer service?
