Faction PvP Question

Ok so how is this faction based PVP going to work? It says "Factions are Martok and Qalia vs Thestra and Youngree factions" how do we know what race is good or bad? I want to be against Thestra, but I also want to be a Raki Monk. Am I going to be able to?

No such thing as Good and Bad.

Impossible to be a Raki against Thestra on that ruleset as Raki are from Youngtree

Aren't most of Qalia against DELFs? Either way, what I woulda liked to have seen is Thestra v. Kojan v. Qalia. Continental domination if you will.

Yeah, more than two sides would have been a lot better I think.

Or hell, what would be even cooler... is if diplomats controlled what the alliances were between the races by making diplomatic missions between embassies, trying to vie for either peace and unification or war and seperatism. Of course that might become slightly confusing without good communication on a wide scale

Agreed. The three factions in DAoC kept you on your toes alot more than when server pretty much only had two factions (and some servers were Albion vs. those 12 guys from Midguard, but I digress).

The breakdown they've chosen seems rather silly, but perhaps there are good reasons that I don't know about.

Why is Martok aligned with anyone? The lore of the game even talks about how they don't like anyone, including themselves.

Why do the Qalians hate everyone else? Tree-envy?

The Dark Elves don't really seem to play well with others.

The Kojani Empire is hooking up with Thestra? Why?

Still, though, I can't complain too much. I knew this wasn't a game focused on PVP going in. The actual PVP battles in VG rock thus far. The FFA server has been a ton of fun.

this half on half pvp stuff, is just for the pvp servers right? im just hopeing this doesnt turn out like WoW where i couldent tell the difference from a ffa server from a pvp server = P that was lame, seems im not a PvP player, love duals, but dualing every1 at the same time... not my bag.
in otherwords what im asking is, on a non PvP server, we can still grp and trade and play with people out of our faction right?
