Re: Grouping with ghosts: my main concern for VG
It stands to reason that while the MMO gamespace is rougher for true newbies than it was when we were all newbies, it should also be possible for them to progress their skills in the same fashion as we did, with other newbies of their time.
Im really looking forward to seeing more detail about the fellowship system that will allow players of different levels to play together. I think that is a great mechanic that can solve a TON of problems for a wide array of gamers both in guilds and out of them.

Re: Grouping with ghosts: my main concern for VG
I just want someone out there to understand that there are those who want to play Vanguard, but have limited time available to us, mainly during the week. I have had bad experiences with guilds in the past. They either kicked me out because I wasn't able to join them every single night or just left me behind and left me stuck in limbo. I was still apart of the guild, but no one acknowledge me. I think of myself as a very good player. I learn what my character can and can't do. I understand his role in a group. I even RP, most of the time. I just am not able to log on for four to six hours seven days a week. Sadly, there is a small percentage of players that understand this. Hopefully the devs will take this into account as well.

Re: Grouping with ghosts: my main concern for VG
Many things just break down when a game has such a low world wide population as EQ2 and DAoC do currently. Combining or clustering servers are the only "cure" I know.My experiences in gaming since early UO along with a death penalty and its guild groups for me more often then not. With that said there is no reason I will not find ways to help new people out. Even if Vanguard is unable to encourage me to do it.Every one of my crafting buddies over the years have felt the same. Vanguard will have so many refugees from other games finding a laid back fun guild really will not be a problem.

So if Vanguard almost in effect penalizes us solo artists, I'll be taking a pass on this one as well. |

They were just rude not to acknowledge u Telicas, u needed to leave em and find a friendly guild. I went through a few guilds before i found one that let me do my own thing if i wanted and let me join em in a group if i wanted as well. I feel that you should not have to take the guilds crap if they dont like or accept your play availability or style, u just need to find one that does. |

Re: Grouping with ghosts: my main concern for VG
I think it all boils down to popularity, if the game is popular, and has a good following, I dont think you will have a problem like EQ2 does. I think also how polished the game is (or isn't) out of the box will also make a big difference.
I have heard quite a few people recently say that EQ2 is way better now than it was at release, but they already lost that player base to elsewhere, byt releasing a beta version of the game which turned a lot of folks off. Its all about how good the game is when released, look at WoW, 2 years (+/-) later still bring in the new folks............... |

Re: Grouping with ghosts: my main concern for VG
When Vanguard is released either I will find a guild that welcomes players who are playing for fun and fellowship or I will create one. I am forced into early retirement and have plenty of time on my hands but I have no interest in powering my way up levels. I dont care if I never get invited on a raid. Providing I have a good group of friends with whom I can adventures I am happy.
