It's hard to make a game mechanic that suits every occasion. The best solution is group with people you know, and have an agreement about loot - but that's not always possible either. I've just learned to not get too worked up over loot. Seems the best solution to me.

Yes Greymain, I have had that problem also with loot standing farther away from the mob than the melee doers in my group. Even in SWG where I used a looting marco; and you maybe touching on resons why MMO's (COH/COV) that are solo (not counting your pets) freindly do well?

the loot system in eqII is pretty good imo, aslong as the leader sets it to lotto which almost all do, the window pops up you click accept if you want it and in most groups ive been in if they notice that its a spell that your class can use they will decline or if they dont notice you ask politely and they hand it over, never been in a group with someone who wouldnt hand over something someone else in the group could use.
