Role player?
To what extent do you Role Play?
Although my background is desktop D&D I am not a deep role player. I do spend ages creating my characters and choosing their name. I do care about my characters reputation in the game. I do flesh out my characters with likes, dislikes and attitudes which are not my own in RL. I do like to find a good spot to watch the sun go down or strip off to go swimming just for fun. I will not wear gear that makes my character look stupid. I like to take my character on "adventures" solo trips across dangerous areas just for the thrill. |

Though, I also tend to be the kind of roleplayer who gets along well with anyone who is not openly hostile to it. I don't think I've ever tried to enforce a roleplaying style on anyone (well, except for when I was in a specific guild in Gemstone where roleplaying a specific style was required to join the guild). |

Re: Role player?
I love it! I can turn it off and on in a New York second, and carry on conversations while RP'ing more than one thing and talking in normal manner. I'm just wierd that way, but it makes it a lot of fun, too! Don't like missing opportunities!

Re: Role player?
Havent met that many people that will RP in-game. I try to chat in-character if the person im talking to is in-character but most arent. Dress and actions i definitely RP (fighters are supposed to charge in, swing and think later lol so thats what i do, on the other hand mages being the intellectual types should think then cast).
armor and weapons are an important visual RP feature too, dwarves should have a double bladed axe and elves should have sword or bow. ...I try but again dont meet that many who do. |

Re: Role player?
When I played that game based on the Geaorge Lucas movies I RP'd alot. There were a few people I could count on to RP with and some occasional RP moments with strangers. Made that game very fun in a time that my gaming was very limited due to lagg problems with my system.
No other game offers any kind of roleplay community, that I have noticed. Im willing to roleplay as much as the next guy when with people that are in to that. But now that I have a system that can handle these games Im a little more interested in the PvP and cooperative play portion of the MMO.

Re: Role player?
My standard approach is that with chat channels, global, personal or guild wise I won't role-play normally as with most you're dealing with people who don't know you and can't see you.
However when I'm face to face with someone and their /telling me or asking something using say, I will roleplay as naturally as possible (which doesn't involve loads of ye's and thous, it just means replying in a way your character would) even if they aren't showing signs of being rpers themselves. I did it just the other day using my little Dwarf Pally, who spoke with something of a scottish accent, was very jovial and good-hearted, but still managed to ask the questions.
