Re: So, what of the oceans?
This has all been said on the OVF before (or possibly Vanguard Crafters where i tend to board troll/reside). When you die at sea, you leave a corpse. Just like on land. If you were in an underwater city, dungeon, etc. then your corpse will stay there, otherwise it's supposed to float to the surface. Your ship is pretty much the same way (although, I'm not sure if they have any submersible ships, so don't try that). It will leave a corpse (known as flotsam) which will stay on top of the water. If I remember right they are supposed to stay in place on the surface of the water.
As to finding your "corpses" it's the same at sea as on land. Your going to have a "Travel Journal" that will note you had died and that you have a corpse, and you can have it make a light-trail to your corpse. I might not do alot of posting, but I do alot of Board Trolling. My fishing normally brings results. Enjoy, because that used to be in several different threads on the OVF before they start shutting things down, and did their media blitz (which brought a whole flood of new people there). |

Re: So, what of the oceans?
Not that I've heard of to date Iendan. Its an interesting idea but it could really be traumatizing if people couldnt find their corpses so Im not sure they would want to add that.

Re: So, what of the oceans?
Corpse run to the middle of the ocean esp. will be hard if your ship is there with your body
. I would like to see the world being round also , Hate running into an edge of a game and can not proceed farther.

Re: So, what of the oceans?
You sure did magicalfirebird, but noone mentioned the existance of winds or currents in those days. Also we were told we would need to find a boat to take us to our flotsom plus having a crafter onboard to resurrect your boat for you. Assuming wind and currents always carry objects to shore eventually this could be a nice fall back for those unable to find an appropriate ship and crafter.
