Re: So, what of the oceans?

Old console RPGs had world maps where you would wrap to the other side of the map when you crossed the edge. For that to work in 3D the world has to be donut shaped.

/signed for a donut shaped planet!

Brad has hinted at underwater cities so it must be possible. my understanding is both your boat and your corpse will float on the surface.

Re: So, what of the oceans?

In EQ, the Guides and GMs had the rule that, if they couldn't see land from where your corpse was, they'd summon it to the nearest land area you could get to.

I don't think it's going to be too terrible. I still miss those strange CR moments in history!! And the nice, cooperative players who could /summon your corpse without an attitude or expecting you to pay a fortune! The sense of community was really nice! Hoping for a reinactment.

Perhaps it's changed fairly recently, but Brad has said several times that corpses and flotsam will float - so your boat's "corpse" does not sink.

Just hope you swimming abilities are way up their, and if not they will be by the time you get your corpse. Also it what really suck if you got half way thier just to run into Jaws.

Oh, by the way I do not have the slightest clue as to what happens when you die at sea.

Re: So, what of the oceans?

When you die at sea you return to your bind point, your corpse floats waiting your return. It is at this point you hope that there will be some sort of indicator pointing out the way to your corpse floating in a featureless ocean.
