What sex do you play?

A guildie and I were having this conversation the other night, because he plays female toons and I play male.

My reasoning is that I don't like nerdy pre-teens using bad pick up lines on me.

His reasoning is that if he has to play a toon 40+ hours a week, that toon better be D*&^ attractive.


What do you play and why?

I play female toons, usually elven races. I have no problem with the nerdy pre-teens, but I have had the ocassional idiot who still believes that females can't be competative in this genre or games in general. At least the pre-teens grow up or look for an easier target, the idiots just keep on believing their own lines.

I usually have alts of both sexes. In the same way I enjoy fantasy novels with male and female heros, its not real life, I play games for fun.

As I have mentioned in another thread being the only male in the house its nice to have one female in my world that does exactly what I tell her!!
Although my wife is threatening to play so my female alt may be possesed.

Both, at least in WoW I did. Only played males to begin with, but then rolled a few females for the sake of variety.

Pretty much always female. I do it since females are naturally more attractive to me sine Im male. That and habit at this point. I started out playing female characters in EQ and now it would be odd to switch.

Both here also... normally a male (Morgore) as my main then an alt or two thats female. In DDO right now... its kinda wierd to join a group and see a few female characters and then all of the sudden, you here this male voice thru the in game chat.
if it has a good view and a good shake..I play the female more often...hahaha

whatever side the quarter lands on is the sex of the character i play if i have a choice in FFXI with some of the races you just got one

I always play a male. I have tried to play a female toon once, but could not get into it, as I like to RP somewhat.

Always male here too. i sometimes borrow my wifes characters from time to time, but even that is uncomfortable (she always plays female character, before she met me she palyed male every time, even in offline games. after i questioned it and se tried being female she's never gone back... even if she tries playing a male cahracter it soon gets deleted as she can't get into it).

im not sure what it is about trying to play a female character that puts me off so much... the exadurated male animated walk/wiggle with every step, and the mincey girly run... the fact that some idiot is going to try and chat me up and im jsut going to want to break his face... or as per the last point, that i jsut dont feel comfortable and it brings out the worst in me :P

all in all, i just dont want to share my affeminate side with the world
