Screen Shots

Is it just me or is half of the screen shots that VG puts out too dark? I have tried looking them at work and at home. Same thing too dark. Now there are some nice ones, like the outside shots, but the inside ones are way to dark.

Re: Screen Shots

Been a problem for me all the time however I understand the internal lighting is still not fully implimented. Also although I cannot prove it screen shots are supposed to look better on plasma screens.

At least external shots are looking ok on my screens nowdays. Still no proper shadows though.

Re: Screen Shots

Aye the internal shots are a bit dark with little variation in colors, but I have been hoping that was due "beta" lighting and such.

Re: Screen Shots

I'd definitely go with the 'beta' lighting if I had to take my guess. I doubt the world will be all dark, since some of the descriptions depict wonderful outdoor scenes.

Re: Screen Shots

It might be a gamma issue?

Re: Screen Shots

Most of them I can make out pretty well. A couple are what I'd call dim but thats what I'd expect of a torch-lit cave right? If they are showing up as partially black then I'd agree it might be a gamma or color depth issue.

Re: Screen Shots

I use my machine for visualisations and take a lot of trouble calibrating my monitors. Trust me some of the early intenal shots were too dark.it took 5 secs in photoshop to bring them to life. upping the gamma washes out some of the color, upping the midtones works best.
