Re: Naming your characters
"Tzadkiel" is the angel of divine justice. I stumbled across information concerning angels when I was helping my little sister with a project in Religion. Since then, I've really been attached to the name.
A few other names I use are "Shinji Shinkoshi", the fictional main character of a story I've been writing, and "Polaris", after the X-(Wo)man of the same name. I usually refer back to my work when it comes to coming up with names for characters in games. |

Re: Naming your characters
In the very first MMO I ever played, my character was named Endar (no relation to the Orson Scott Card character, or Star Wars world), because I thought it was a clever name for someone who was "ending" the lives of so many monsters. That was a beta, and I didn't opt to play immediately on release. A few months later, I purchased the release version, but my name was not available. I tired several variations; none of them were accepted. I started makig up variants of my RL name (Dave), and couldn't get any of those through either. After a half dozen attempts at least, I got frustrated and just threw in some extra letters and syllables that didn't sound too completely goofy, and Daeanor was what came out. That has been my main character's name in every MMO I have played since; he is always a mage type, and when surnames are available, he is Daeanor Endarion, in honor of poor lost Endar. My alts use variants; I have had a ranger in EQ (and EQ2) named Daen; a Beastlord in EQ (and cleric in EQ2) who were Vah Shir / Kerran (cat people, for the unfamiliar) named Tabbaenor (and yes, they were tabbies
); I've a hunter in WoW named Daevlinnor. I guess I'm stuck with that name now, there may be more people in the world who know me by it than by my real name.

Re: Naming your characters
Came up with mine trying to get a handle name for a chat room and after about 15 or so attempts, finally it accepted Korinth. I did not want a (name1128) kind of handle.
Unfortunately I could not use it in EQ1 or EQ2 as it was taken already, so this game will be the first one I will play under that name. |

Re: Naming your characters
Or so we hope...I might accually not take Vigrid, apparently there is a hate organization in Norway by that name, which makes me mad.

Re: Naming your characters
I just took a word like "Dangerous", spelled it backwards and shuffled the words around till I got something I liked. Thats how I got Sorengard. As you can see all I did was shuffle the letter's dropped the U for another R and KaBoom, there it was. Used this same screenname for EQ1 and 2, will probably use it for and alt in VSoH, going to create me a new name for a main. Sorengard has always been affiliate with an Iskar, and since I will be playing a Vulmane as my main I need a different name now don't I. Currently going through history and mythology books to find a name.
