I still need to actually watch the video! I dont mind the harvesting classes turning into skills instead but I still long for the original SWG harvesting system. It really was lot of fun. The long beta doesnt bother me, I have enough to keep me busy...for now. But honestly I have a feeling since the SoE deal was announced that we wouldnt be seeing release until the "month of 2007" instead of the "month of 2006". We'll see though, maybe Sigil will surprise us all.

I so agree, there have been no activity of any kind at my local gamespot, so im thinking there have not been any information flow going down the pipe - now maybe there will be some info in a month or two or four but the no activity now makes me think "the month of 2007" also.

Also if you notice - they only say winter - not winter of 2006 or 2007 or actually anything else - just winter.

Excellent post , I will mainly be adventure. Having seconds thoughts as my starting char being a Healer type instead of a Inquisitor. I will most likely get into harvesting more than crafting as a secondary skill. Time will tell , never know as this game progreeses to completion and I finnaly get to play the game

Hiya all, just had another thought.....

Does anyone know (and im not asking anyone to violate the NDA) if IF you get into beta, does that char exist once the game goes public??

Or does that char(s) get deleted because its a beta build and now you have to start all over.

Just thoughts im having while wondering if i will get a beta invite.. lol... they said thousands will be invited.......

If the chars get deleted im thinking i wont (MAYBE) accept the invite....

I dont know that much about how beta's are run.

No clue, but I'm used to hearing about the massive wipes that happen after different phases of betas and stuff, so...that would be my guess.

Character wipes are the norm. It would be nice if you can store your character creation slider settings and character name. But its only fair that you start the real game at level 1.

Anticipation is the what keeps this community going. Been anticipating so long and joined so many VSOH affiliated sights that you would think this game had been out for months now.

I would put my bet on the beta server and the launch servers not being even remotely close to overlapping. I could see their beta server turn into the testing realm so to speak though and maybe leaving that up and running with beta characters.

Agreed, harvesting in SWG was a blast.. Although sometimes surveying could be a pain, but nothing was as satisfying as unloading a full harvester. It would be nice to see something similar in Vanguard, except instead of a harvester, you can place a dwarven mine
