I have always been a bit surprised that what is basically an database program cannot detect abnormal activity. There must be a bit of nervousness about frightening off too many clients.

True on both accounts.

Also, a problem in WoW is that while many people know actual farmers and even report them, the GMs aren't doing anything about it. And even if they do, it only takes so long to level a new character to 60.

The problem with WoW is it's too easy to level up, plain and simple. Farmers can do it in a week or two, so it makes no difference if they get banned.

I even think they can do it faster... It doesn't take much skill to get to 60 in 8 days /played if you just grind - and they do play in shifts ya'know.

Well it took me about 15 days /played as a solo priest, but I also had max tailoring and crafting at that level, in addition to numerous hours spent helping lower level guildmates getting no experience.

So ya, I could believe if I didn't level any professions or help others it's definately doable in under 8 days even.

18 days /played on my rogue. And that included trying out seven different professions well into the 100s until finally settling on Leatherworking/Skinning - a decision I did not regret. Used to make a killing on Stormshroud and Volcanic armor stuff. Oh, also spent quite some time helping guildies, like yourself.

Some farmers actually even used a teleport hack to powerlevel characters - the egg quest in Gadgetzan comes to mind - that quest has been disabled, though.

Been playing WoW for a year never got any of my 8 characters over level 54 .. just got bored with them..joined loads of crap guilds...gave up on pvp, fed up with players spitting on my corpse after ganking me....spent most of my time soloing ..... Wow simply sucks.

What's with the /spit thing anyways? It's disgusting. As if corpse camping isn't bad enough... I personally never spat on other players - unless they spat at my first, of course.

Everytime I see that name, IGE, I'm filled with anger... I just can't believe that it's possible to do this and not get punished - but such are the laws governing this world, I guess. It's just not fair. DDO just came out, didn't it? And they're already there...
