It's been a while...

Well, it's been longer than 'a while' so I thought it was about time that I poked my head in to see how everyone is doing.

Today, I started checking out the info on Vanguard once more and I liked what I saw. I tried the beta, and got very discouraged when it gave some very, very low framerates making it unplayable for me, but now I see that my PC more than meets the minimum spec! So, in a moment of weakness, I bought the game as a digital download and subscribed

It's downloading as I type - quite a hefty set of files too - and as soon as it's finished I'll install/patch and give it a go. Hopefully, it'll all go to plan and I should be online tomorrow after work.

I'm looking forward to finally playing the game and, maybe, meeting some of you there.

I hope you find it to be what you are after; I lasted longer than you before moving off to other games and will be interested in your reactions now.

For myself, I am waiting until close to EQ2 Kunark release to get station access again when I can reaudition VG and MxO while taking over Norrath as a Sarnak.

I hope you enjoy your experience. Remember, there still improving on the game, so you may run into a few hiccups. Send me a tell (Lirojehra) if you decide to play on Sartok (PVP), a newbie could always use a friend/bodyguard!

Well, Vanguard installed nicely then it went a bit wonky until I fiddled with the settings and now, finally, I can play...Yipppeee!

I headed off to Seradon (sorry, Elf8bliss) and created a little Halfling Druid (No surprise there to those that know me). After a quick session of clobbering a few beasties I thought I'd investigate this new-fangled Diplomacy thingy. I love it!! So, my little druid has put away his walloping stick and is now trying to talk his way out of (or should that be in to?) trouble. That was fun.

Then, for a change of pace, I created a High Elf Pally (again, not a surprise to some ). More fun, more clobbering. I did notice that the High Elf areas didn't seem as 'laggy' graphically as the Halfling area so I bumped up a few settings. The game now looks so much better than my original 'Max Performance' setting but every now and then gives some odd graphical wierdness (like removing the terrain and characters but leaving the names) but nothing that can't be resolved by camping out and logging back in.

In short, I like this game! I know it's still early days so I'm prepared to accept the random crashes and other anomalies, they'll get fixed in time.

Just for a bit of reference, my PC isn't the best around now - an AMD Athlon 2500+ CPU, 1Gb PC3200 RAM, an nVidia GeForce 6600GT AGP card and an old SB Live!

So, if anyone wants to help, or even chat with, a little pie-eating Druid (Gotty) or an Elven Pally (Vila) then I'll be online most evenings (GMT)!

It`s been a while indeed for me too since I closed my account (end April).Since SoE took over the game have had major improvements and I`m seriously reconsidering re-activating my account.I`ve watched all the new videos and interviews around and got only good feedback from those playing
