300th post brings sad news

I am leaving the world of Telon. I was with Vanguard for 2 or so years before it came out, and played the last stages of the Beta, the whole pre-release, and a few months into the game before I got fickle. While my system runs it fine, a number of other issues have come up and I have lost my desire to play for now. While I'm between jobs every dollar I have saved has to go for other stuff I have planned. Maybe once my new system is built sometime in July, I might come back, but time will tell.

Looking back I sort of regret buying the Collectors Edition but if I do come back and play sometime who knows.

I'm expecting VG to make great strides under SOE's stewardship. Look at what improvements they made in EQ2 since it's release. I haven't played much past few months myself, due in part to lots of RL issues taking up my time. But I am keepiong my Station Access also for EQ and EQ2, and will continue dabbling in VG and see how things go

The Vanguard team does seem to be working hard to optimize the game even more, and fix bugs. This is really going better than I had thought it would. The gang that came with the game seems to have renewed their desire to make Telon the great world it should be, so...YAY!!!

Hello people!

It's been a long time since I've last come here, 11-07-2007 according to the "last log in date" (oddly says there have only been 11 posts since).

I may be coming back to the world of Talon. I've gotten a new PC set up and everything, with much higher specs. I've had it since August, but with college and stuff, I hadn't gotten a job since I quit my last. I am installing Vanguard now for the first time on this system, and hope to jump in for at least a little while longer.

Before beginning anew, and digging up my account info, I'd like to ask: What have I missed? Under SOE, has Vanguard grown and gotten better? Is it still much more of a challenge than WoW or EQ2? Anything really neat going on? Crafting still an adventure in its self? Any Expantions planned? Classes fixed? I'd really love to know


EDIT: I logged in, not knowing about the free month of play for old accounts going on, and asked around. It seems like they really really watered down the game, making warriors HAVE to be dual wield to use their skills, easier to level, etc. I was hoping the game would avoid this, but I guess it fell for the pressing need to cater to the simpler crowed.

That being said, I really doubt I'm going to be rejoining the ranks at Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

Knight.....I'm so sorry!

I know the feeling of saddness, no matter now hard I try to stay optomisitc. Too many rumors and things adding constantly to the drama scene of Telon. I'm hopeful, tho, that after my new computer guts are installed, I'll get a different outlook and be able to still have fun!

I haven't done much of any gaming in the past few months cuz of work load et al, and while I miss it, I find myself tired of the continued SoE saga of "we want to hear YOUR ideas, but we're doing it out way, regardless" and over seas ventures they continue to squeek about. Taking CS to India was/is SO wrong. The other rumors? I can only hope they are just that!

Try some of the other classes. My other half is still having a blast with his various classes, and he's definately a seasoned gaming vet!
