Does this /cancelability macro work all the time even when you are currently casting or is it based on other conditions?

thanks, I will sure give it a try tonight anyways
The macro works for me every time whether I am in the middle of another cast ot not, the only thing you will need to watch is the actual counter spell cool down and apparently they just lowered the cool down for that with todays patch.

Re: Sorcerer: a worthwhile class?

/reactionautocounter and /reactionautochain work great! I put these in my spell macros and it will auto counter or chain whenever i hit the button.

I wish it was a setting but you have to call a macro with these commands. As long as you don't mind when you use your chain reaction it works great

Re: Sorcerer: a worthwhile class?

to the OP

Currently the Sorc class is useless. They nerfed us VERY bad in last nights patch and now the class is not worth playing, soloing will suck and in a group you are useless cause your DPS will be at best medium and when you are done with a fight you will be out of mana, and that is after just 1 mob, if there are more then 1 mob then you are useless cause you will have no mana for the next fight. Plus of course you have to stop, rest and eat food after every fight just so you can do medium DPS. Currently I think a Druid is doing more DPS in a fight then a Sorc, and they actually have mana left.

If you want to be a caster I would recommend Nec. They seem to be doing fine and are soloing machines. Not sure how they are in a group, but I'm sure they are good in groups too.

Re: Sorcerer: a worthwhile class?

you're right, it does seem silly.

I was meaning to say that I'm not sure how they are in groups (since I haven't grouped with any since launch), but If I had to place a bet then I'd guess that they are pretty good in a group setting as well, just no personal experience to go by.

Re: Sorcerer: a worthwhile class?

When Sigil balances something, they really give a wide berth to the upper and lower ranges. This energy regen thing will be the same, deal with it for a day or so. They will swing the pendulum back upward before it settles in its "final"* state.

*Final in this case meaning probably not final but longer lasting.

Re: Sorcerer: a worthwhile class?

It's not so much the energy regen. Although that is a concern, it is mostly that they WAY increased the cost of Chaos Volley which is so stupid since you can't do any good damage with it w/out casting it a few times in a row and by the time you do that you have no mana left to cast it any more. Also the Endurance cost now on energy rift is ridiculus, It was 15 end and now it is 45 end. To me a adjustment would be to make it like 20 - 25 end. Not to make the spell basically useless since the most end you can have is 100, and the end regen is way nerfed atm, it takes 4 full seconds to tic

I was still waiting for them to fix the end cost of Shocking Grasp which they nerfed bad in Beta. A end of 40 gives it only 2 casts and that it, and the spell doesn't even do that much dmg. So basically it is a totally useless spell and is never used (well it was somewhat usable from the lvl you get it til about tlvl 10 when soloing).

Re: Sorcerer: a worthwhile class?

Well I played my sorc for about 5 minutes before they reset the server and it seemed fine. I was killing with no problems whatsoever. When the server comes back up, I'll play it some more and see if there really is a problem.

BTW Shocking Grasp is far from useless as long as you have a strategy. SG is not meant to be used all the time. I see it as a "finisher" more than anything since you really shouldn't have any attacking mobs near you anyway. So it's not useless, it's there for if you get unlucky and an attacking mob gets too close. Kind of like an emergency spell. There's a reason why it costs a lot of endurance. I'm sure you can work that reason out for yourself.

Re: Sorcerer: a worthwhile class?

I am enjoying my sorceres so far. It has its ups and downs at times just like any other class. I do find it some what harder to solo than some of the other classes, but over all I love going out and being able to nuke monsters hehe
