Sorcerer Spells

I have been looking forward to play a sorcerer and have been searching for information about this class. The fact that is classified as a damage dealer class attracts me but I read some opinions that after all is not so great class and does not bring too much to a group. Unfortunately I did not played beta so I could not test it. Could some of you give me your ideas and judgments about this class? Thank you all

The socr is a cool class so far i have reached level 6 still doing all the basic quest around Larn something name of the town sry can't remember very well. I can do good damage hold my own in battle against 2 mobs, i think as i go along and get better hand and eye work it will be a great class for all battles

My Sorcerer is currently level 15 and I can certainly output some pretty good damage relative to the mobs I am fighting. Fireball is awesome, I was grouped with a Cleric last night and we where killing Lizard men for a quest to find a woman in one of their huts. There are a few groups of Lizard men that wander together, in one group there was 8 Lizard men clumped together, I stood at max range and managed to get 3 fireballs off which hit every one of them at the same time, then used my AoE spell (name escapes me atm) and killed them all so fast the Cleric thought this was borderline cheating

My current highest critical from a fireball was just over 1000 (two targets) my highest chain critical is 1554. I have wisdom and intellect attributes maxed as much as possible and I do have a couple of items that add about +15 spell damage.
