What happened to sneak?

Is it just me or has sneak been made stupidly hard since beta?

Any hints on bringing it up would be appreciated since it's useless at it's current level and skill increases takes ages it seems.

I haven't had any problems with it. They did change a few things around, and now I am noticed more often by more difficult mobs, but that isn't such a big issue for me.

I think part of the problem may be that sneak wasn't working the first day so now I'm skilling up on lvl 10-13 mobs while my sneak is 10-20.

I saw something on Safehouse http://www.thesafehouse.org about the fact that practiceing stealth can only be done within the Frontal Arc, which aparently is the front 180 degrees.

Do rogues get a chance to backstab and pickpocket without breaking sneak and I'm just really low level/unlucky, or do they both break it automatically?
