The funny thing about those who whine the most in threads concerning beta testing are those that did not get chosen to do the beta test in the first place and feel that for some reason or another, they should have been chosen over everybody else. Don't get me wrong, I would love to be in the beta, but I know how important feedback from the testers can be for development of the finished product.
I just hate to see frustration on the part of the Dev, due to someone's feeling of being slighted or left out, when they already have so much to be worried and frustrated about. 4000?!?! That is a lot of feedback to swallow

What is really annoying me about this are the people who say "SEE MY POST COUNT!!" and seem to believe that a high post count merits automatic inclusion to beta. Post count is no measure of community involvement, it just means you can spam a lot
![]() Still, 4000 users is probably enough that they have 1000ish on at all times, thats quite impressive when you remember there is probably another 4 to 6 months of Beta to go. |

I'm camping my inbox hoping.. but I'm not gonna whine about it, I've done beta testing before but I don't have an uber rig to play on... I have a good enough rig to prolly get in once things are obtimized, but who knows... either way the box will be in my hot little hands when it goes live and I will be happy, if I tested it or not.
side note - Thunderaxe, email me your sig picture so I can host it on a real server for you please: Lady_AElflaed (at) hotmail.com Nevermind, got it.. use this link: http://fs.lunedesigns.com/images/thunderaxesig.jpg ![]() (I took the liberty of brightening it slightly and sharpening it slightly so you can see it... hope you don't mind.) |

4000 is an impressive number!
I can understand some people feeling slighted, but the beta is there for the tuning and polishing of a business product (and it's certainly in Sigil's interest to do thorough testing - and only they know what they need to test and when). The beta is by no means a reward, even though they have given out beta slots as prizes. If you think about it, out of 4000 slots only about 50 or so have been prizes, so it's not a lot. Too bad some people on the OVF don't see that and are giving the devs a hard time. I would love to be chosen to participate in the beta at some point of course, but I'm pretty much on the same page as Fisty here; it's the release day that I'm looking forward to the most!

Looks good Fisty! I'm making some changes though, the Guild Design is way too busy, so I've changed that and also took Lightning's suggestion of rearranging the lettering. Here's the link....feel free to apply some of your considerable talent to it!

I've added an update in the thread in Fan Art, ThunderAxe - we now return you to your thread already in progress...
...so, how about those testers, eh? |

<-----Reels in confusion....as Lightning uses his hard-won moderating skills.... :P
I played the beta for City of Villains after being a diehard City of Heroes player. At the time, there was very little difference in the interface outside of redressed toons and renamed powers, but I was more interested in the gaming mechanics of starting your own stronghold and how they would handle being "evil"...i.e. instead of "rescue the citizen", I would "slay the citizen". What I found was actually a dumbed down interface with childish "villain" versions of hero quests. Unless it was PvP you were still acting in the best interests of the group instead of self-serving evil...which to me always epitomized the villain v. hero syndrome. So I posted my feedback on the Beta Board and was promptly flamed by all the ass-kissers who were gushing about how great the game was and how they were going to be so far ahead of the noobs when the release hit the streets...it was a complete waste of my time and I have since let my subscription to CoH expire....oh well
