Yes, fighting your way past the blatant fanboyism is always a pain, it was a HUGE problem in EQ2 beta. The devs completely redid the crafting system 3 days before launch and a large number of testers, myself included, stated the problems and our disbelief about how late it was implemented. The fanboys shouted us down and it went live pretty much broken for the first few weeks.

Feedback, both good and bad, is extremely valuable to the developers if they will only listen and, at the same time, encourage those with genuine and well thought out criticisms to speak their minds.

Agree, EQ2 beta left such a bad taste in my mouth I swore I would never beta test again.....till Vanguard came around

I agree that postcount alone does not merit involvement in the game, but I have a few friends who feel as though they are discriminated AGAINST simply because they do have a high postcount. I actually believe, that given the knee-jerk tendencies of new businesses, that a high postcount may be more of a disadvantage than an advantage. A lot of the blame for that rests on all the people who sit in the thread and call attention to their posts.

I dunno though, I think Sigil's good enough about it to not let postcount mean anything.

I am an ideal beta candidate except for hardware; AMD64 3500+, 2 gigs of RAM, Geforce 6600.

And there are a LOT of vocal community members; even with 1000 posts, I'm only the 96th most active poster on the official forums.

But, I understand there are 40,000 profiles, and the vast majority of their decisions are just arbitrary database plucks. Of course there's gonna be some misses and some issues with instructions and whatnot.

I've gotten into just about every beta I've applied for before; this is just karma for me to not get in...

Just cannot get into the one you REALLY want, eh? Karma indeed However, it's beta 2 now with 4000+ testers, imagine the numbers there will be for Beta 4.
