Good evenin' mates!

I'm the Salty Dog and me ol' shipmate, The Drunken Dwarf asked me to come over an' 'elp 'em keep a tight ship. Seein' that he's the reason I still got my one good eye, I couldn't say no to the ol' sea dog.

I got a few simple rules.

No fightin' on the forums. Save it fer them scurvy critters in th' game.
No harrasin' yer shipmates. We all gotta live in close quarters here.
No advertisin' fer gold and stuff. This one really gets me steamed up, and ye don't wanna see me steamed up. If yer one o' them farmer types lookin' ta sell yer booty, yer in the wrong place. You'll be walkin' the plank if ya try that on my watch!
No sellin stuff. Take that junk over ta ebay and get rid of it.
Keep it safe fer the little swabbies. We got munchkins on this ship and they don't need ta be seein' any o' that rubbish. Think about what yer sayin' and if ya wouldn't say it in front o' yer boss' kids, don't say it here!

I don't wanna have to keelhaul ya, so keep on doin' what ya been doin' and we'll be fine. The Dwarf said he has a good crew over here.

Question:

Are we permitted to sell things on these forums if it's ingame money for ingame items?

Can there be a forum set-up for release where the "be nice to everyone" rules are slackened? Sometimes people need to argue about things, not doing it on the general forums I agree with, but having a separate "ARENA" for it is a good idea in my opinion.

I'll be posting full "rules" and moderator guidelines very soon. That way everyone will know what is acceptable and not.

So far, there has only been one instance where I almost stepped in, and that one resolved itself. So, I think we've been on the right track.

Once my initial post on the VF Forum Code of Conduct is made, we'll have a discussion as a community and fine tune things. We'll also clarify any questions.

A brief response to Eclipse's questions...

I am considering a market forum. I think that sort of thing is handled better on server boards, but if there is demand for one here, we can accomodate. I certainly have nothing against selling in-game items for in-game cash.

As for playing nicely with each other. Spirited debates are always welcome. Personal attacks aren't.

I *may* have a rant type forum that would have looser rules. There are pros and cons to including that type of forum and I haven't decided which way to go yet. But if I do include one, it will still have some rules (no attacks/derogatory remarks based on real life race, religion, etc...).
