Avatar on Equipment Window

Hi hi... I just started playing VG and one thing that I am curious about is that when you open up your equipment window, there is a rectangular box where you can drop items which will automatically be placed in the appropriate slots.

My question is : Should there be a small avatar there to see how your character looks? Or is it supposed to be blank... just empty?

Coz that box on my window is just empty and black. Tried changing the Video settings but nothing comes up at all.

Any inputs?

It's meant to be empty - it's just a space you can drop an item and it will autoequip.
