Tagad on armour durability

We stepped through the code and the modifiers for abilities and currently the refresh time of abilities is playing a role in your chance to take durability loss. It also plays a roll in getting "critically" dinged on armor. Warriors, Paladins, Dreadknights, etc all have a subset of abilities with long refresh timers. This combined with some streaky rolls on the Random Number Generator can result in your armor getting dinged unfairly.

Claims of faster durability loss than the previous patch however, we cannot repro at the moment.

As a related question: Are item durabiliy hits dependant on item level relative to player level?

lame

I can guarentee that hes wrong.

Its got nothing to do with our "long refresh move timers" and everything to do with haveing NPCs bashing on us 24/7 in groups. There wasteing time on this when they should just lower the dammage taken from NPCs hitting you.

Chain pulling mobs in my normal group after 1 hour my stuff is all below 50% and after 1 & 1/2 hours My stuff starts to hit 0. While the scorc is still at 80-90%... and everyone else is fine too.

Its way way way way to fast. The higher the mobs your fighting the more dammage they do, but if your fighting low level mobs in a group you take ALOT of hits in 1 hour, its nasty either way and your gonna have to repair after 2 hours. WHY ??

I asked Tagad about this. Apparently taking damage has nothing to do with durability loss. They set it up so that ability activation is what causes durability loss, so all classes will lose item durability, and not just the tanks.

Pulling level 14-16 three and four dot spiders in Achatlan when I was level 15 tore my armor down from 100% (fixed up before going to cave) and down to 40% after just under 2 hours. Another hour and a half, and I'd have to bail to repair or start using the spare armor I keep for CR's.

Rest of the group were fine, and I don't think one of them were under 80%.

As for not taking durability hits when not getting hit, this is untrue. My sorcerer friend kites mobs, and they never touch her, still she has durability loss, albeit very low compared to us who tank.

It was very frustrating for me to finally really group with full group and all, and then experience how fast the armor degrades. And with the upcomming exp boost this weekend, people will be head over heels to do dungeons and get the most out of the exp boost... which will make us tanks attractive.

Question is... when the rest of the group are still wanting to keep dungeon crawling for another 2 or 3 hours, and all yuor armor is shot to pieces, what will you do? Bail and repair? Use spare gear?... for those higher up in levels, there's even a good question wether or not it's worth it compared to the cost of repairing it all.

I hear alot of people who says the amount of coin to repair after a dungeon run often times costs more than they actually earn in loots.

Not like that for me yet, but i'm only 15. The future as a warrior though doesn't look too bright...

*sighs and takes up tradeskilling instead for the duration of the exp weekend*

I found that items more then 10 levels above you take a very drastic durability hit. Once you got in that 10 level window it got much better. The first item I bought that was more then 10 levels higher then me literally went from 100% to 70-80% in one solo fight.

And still no fix to this at all and the reapir cost just keep going up and the amount of cash earned per run not going up.

Total cost for exp weekend 2.5Gold. lvl 27-30 on the weekend. Was about 15-20 x 20 silver repair (every hour/2hours) and haveing the group wait while someone evaced me out and repaired then summoned me in. LUCKY my core group has someone who can evac and summon otherwize its reclear time.

As for the pervious post about high level gear degrading quickly, my % rateing is only at 35% or something, so thats not effecting it greatly.

FIX PLESAE - or atleast Increase the time it takes to degrade untill you can fix it. People will play the game, see that the repairs are crazy and leave without checking the boards to know if its buged.

Basically, if I didnt do tradeskills I couldnt fight. I dont like to solo so im grouping 90% of the time. Ive never once come out with more cash then the repairs have cost, since lvl 15-20ish.

Quick questioin: Does *trying* to use a ability while its under cooldown give you a chance for armor to degrade? becuase I spam my taunt macro alot (with Taunt, Taunting strike and Shield bash in the one keypress)

Dont think so - my bard has a macro for several attack too and his gear degrades at ~ 1/5 of my warriors rate.

What i wanted to ask is if someone noticed an even steeper increase in durability loss since yesterdays content patch ? I was in Conlor Mines with some friends of mine and it took less than one hour to crack my rare armor. Fortunately i already gathered 2 spare sets of armor to avoid repairing every hour. Unfortunately this leaves me with +-0 coin left after a repair - if i didnt craft i'd never be able to use this char - currently its easier to let a cleric tank.

Holy F S*** ppl!!!! I feel your pain, omg I felt it last night LOL

I was sceptical about this whole repair situation before, here is why -

- I am level 32 DRK now
- most my gear was at uncommon level with a heroic Tsang's sword and a rare item here and there
- I had a spare set of Trengal Armor, and I was wearing a set of Crafted Iron Regular armor, not superior.
- every night, I would get dinged for about 10-12 silver in repairs for 2 sets
- every night I would bring back about 7-8 silver in trash loot and about 30-50 silver in items.
CONCLUSION - with some trading, you can make up for the $$$ difference.

Now I am so onboard with you guys, repair costs need a revamp, forget the classes revamp. Revamp repair costs!

Why I changed my mind:

- I had a lucky 2 days and basically pimped out entire CIS line, getting a full set of CIS rare armor in process, getting a legendary and 2 heroic items (CIS bracer and Trengal Cape).
- My eyes pop'd when I paid 35 silver in repairs after a dungeon run proudly wearing that full set of armor.
CONCLUSION - there is no way regular means of trading will make up for 30 silver loss in repairs multiple times a day.

CONCLUSION2 - I will be walking around most of the time in my Trengal Armor, wearing my CIS set for hard mobs deep in dungeons, as I basically cannot afford to wear it even 50% of the time. Soloing in it is just too expensive and RiskVSReward doesn't pay off.

P.S. Sigil - STOP FORCING TANKS TO BEG GRP 4 $$$.
