Competition: Justify your Beta slot worthiness!

Want to win A Vanguard: Saga of Heroes beta slot? Simple, convince me that you are worthy to be a Beta tester of this fine game by any means (within the NDA and the Vanguard Fighters terms and conditions, naturally) and I will award you a slot.

The Rules:
1: Keep it clean folks, this is a family friendly forum.
2: Bribery will not work. Kurashasa are above such things.
3: All entries must be posted by the end of Wednesday the 6th of December. No entries after that will be considered.

Good luck, and get those replies coming in :kitteh:

Well I never liked the "boast about myself" game....but I really want a beta, so here goes nothing. (Dont hold this against me VF family!)

Besides checking the forums often, Im always friendly with all the members always ending my post with "Much Love" Ive started a lot of conversations, and helped to immerse fellow readers in the movement that is Vanguard. Even while I was in basic training and tech school, I found ways to get on and read the forums to stay updated on everything, because i liked to stay as active as possible here. Ive always tried to greet every new comer (after me) that comes in with a hearty hello, to make sure they feel welcome amongst the rest of us cwazy gamers. And if received a beta it would help me spread my childish laughter (hehehehe) onto the world of Vanguard and would probably put me in a better mood than i usually am when I come on here...And Im the first to reply on this thread (I did say Im active). But like i said, i dont like boasting my self, so Im done baby! Good luck to everyone who competes!

Much Love

Beta Slot

My reasons for being interested in a Beta Slot are listed below:
  1. I am an experienced gamer that has both the time available to dedicate to reviewing the game and the ambition to make this the best game that will ever be played, with thought filled suggestions to Sigil.
  2. I am a Software Developer and know and understand the difference between Beta and Live. Many expect Beta to be almost 100% working with minor bugs. I expect there to be a large amount of content that is planned for both Open Beta and Live to not be active.
  3. I am already in a guild that I believe has a few members in Beta already. Not sure due to the NDA.
  4. Lastly, I have already Pre-Ordered the Game. Whether I am in Closed Beta or not I will be in the game. I would just like to make it the best game ever.
Thank you very much for this opportunity to state my case and possibly get a Beta Slot.

Beta Slot Plead,
An original work by Loviaroth.

Why do I want to be involved in Beta? Please allow me to give a short history of myself before answering the previous question. I have been playing online RPG's since Diablo1, I was a young, hot blooded, tyrant of a gamer, using programs the likes of BobaFetts Trainer. I wanted nothing more than to PK, TK, and Camp corpses, like I said a tyrant with what I though an extremely large e-peen. Once Diablo2 was released however, something in me changed. I no longer wanted to go around and slay others using third party programs. I wanted clean legit duels, and so I became a beacon for legit dueling, taking my necromancer to many different dueling communities. After a run of about gosh I don't even know how long, 5 years of playing D2 and D2:LoD, a few friends and I made the move to Everquest. I loved everquest when we first started playing, however as the years passed and the expansions were released to bring in more customers, the gameplay and story suffered. So, I again gathered a group of friends, and switched to World of Warcraft. With two level 99 Necromancers, a level 70 Shadowknight, and a 60 Shadow Priest, the reason i want to be involved in the Beta is quite simple. I am and avid, passionate gamer.
Vanguard in my eyes will be the game that derails World of warcraft much like World of warcraft did to Everquest. I want to be able to give impute in the final product. I can promise, I am not looking for just sneak peeks. I will test the game to the best of my ability, including different classes/races/quests/zones.
Thank you for your consideration.
-Lovi

Hello, My name is Kaldaan.

All that I ask is that you read my whole story.

I'd hate to be cliche and say "it all started back....", but I cannot find any other way to address it. So there I was in 7th grade, on a particularly rainy morning. I had arrived at school early. Too early, infact, so early that only a few administrators were on the campus, so we all had to huddle in the cafeteria. Walking past some tables towards the lunch line, I came across a group of friends I had known-of, yet never really personally known. After recieving my meager portion of what was supposed to be breakfast, I looked for somewhere to sit. "Damn", I thought, "I don't see anyone I know." Suddenly a hand flew up and starting waving as if to answer my subconscious calls. It was one of the kids I had passed. Feeling warm from the invite, I strolled over and took a seat. After a round of "Hi's" the group continued conversing. All I could make out from what they were saying was something about Quests, Mobs, and anger towards something called "trains". Jargon aside, they were talking about great adventures as if they had actually taken them. What imagination these guys have. I had to ask. "what are you guys talking about?"
"Everquest", They all said in unison.
Intruiged I continued to pull more and more information from them. I came back day after day to eat breakfast with them and learn about "Norrath". Then after some pleading with the parents, a few computer upgrades, and a purchase of the game, I was on. Within minutes I suddenly, overwhelmingly, knew why they loved this game, and those words still escape me today.
The rest. Is history.
After a few years on EQ I moved on, as technology also did. I felt indecisive going from EQ to FFXI to SWG to DAOC to Wow to EQ II, to... well many other games. I still check back in other games now and then to try out updates and expansions, only to be eventually brought right back to bordem.
Ever since I created my first warrior on EQ I have been searching for that experience in other games, and in turn, become dissapointed. No game is perfect, yet no game could make me feel so immersed as the first I ever played. Kaldaan Warblade was my warrior's name, and It has represented me since that time, as a reminder of where I came from and what I am looking for.

My love for mmorpg's has lead me to become very familiar with them. I have played betas and been very active in the forums, with a strong belief that is ones duty as a tester. Ever since I have discovered Vanguard I have physically not been able to play any other game. Knowing that it is out there is enough to make other games feel so unsatisfactory. I stay up late at night browsing from the Official Vanguard Forums to many other affiliates, and even a guild Ex Umbris, which I have allready joined.
By next week or so, I will have a computer in my grasp that is more than capable to run this game. The computer is an x-mas present from my step-father, who has supported my love for the games. Running Vanguard well, is much more important that a new consol and all the games available.

As a child, EQ was an escape. a fantastic escape from a disfunctional home. My best friends were dwarfs, high elfs, and Barbarians. I ran through woods looking for large ferocious wolves for thier pelts. I spent nights in dungeons tanking for the group as we worked our way into the deep unknown, feeling so accomplished when I removed new armor from dead corpses.

As an Adult, this game is my hobby. Some people collect stamps, play with trains or even build those little ships in bottles. I play MMORPG's.

If you have stayed with me this far I thank you for you time in reading this. I type every word with more heart and meaning than any paper i've ever written. I hope you consider me in your thoughts.

With deepest regards,

Kaldaan Warblade

Hey,

My name is Adam. I have been gaming for as long as I can remember. In terms of MMOs, I played the original EQ for a while and FFXI, but I quit to play console games. I played Halo1 on Xbox for years, and began running my own lan events. Now, many years later, I work for Major League Gaming, running the largest video game league in the world (watch us 10am Saturdays on USA).

When WoW was released, I jumped back into the MMO culture. I have played rogue and warrior through Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, AQ, and Naxx (the largest 40 main raids currently in the game). With my rogue I was a member of one of the top guilds on any server and was basically a cog in a well oiled machine. On my warrior, I started a guild from scratch and lead them through content I had previously conquered, and new content that had just been released. I feel that with my extensive general video game experience, MMO experience, and love of the industry, that I would be a great addition to the beta community.

On a job related note, I am curious to explore vanguard for its possible lan integration. Organized PvP has been used at other smaller tournaments, and I would love to explore the option for MLG. Vanguard seems to me to be heads and shoulders above everything out there, it just seems like the logical thing for me to be involved with.

Regardless if I get picked or not, I will be buying (pre-ordered) and playing Vanguard. Thank you for your time.

Adam

Hello all. I have been reading the forums on all the sister sites for vanguard daily for a long time. I cant wait till release.
I played WoW in beta, I was waiting for it to come out for along time. It is enjoyable having some early game info(good quest areas, grinding spots, first grouping areas, ect) before game release. I work in a comic book store(also sell D&D, sci-fi, collectable card games) and as such I sit around all day reading forums, waiting for the next person to come in(which is few and far between). I got bored with WoW awhile back(been there done that syndrom). The WoW expansion doesnt interest me, balencing the classes for pvp is screwing pve over.
So if I get a beta spot I would be sitting in the back room of the store I work at playing till the dinging of the door goes off . Plus i would really like ot narrow down my class/race choices by playing them for a few days each.
I currently have about 50-80 hours a week of free time, mostly spent watching my girlfriends D&D games making minor characters to play along alittle, watching TV which is boring as hell, drooling over Vanguard videos/forums(prefered). To sum it up, I am a 26year-old avid gamer wanting to know and experience the next best game to come out.
Thank you for your time

I'm not going to lie... I don't post much on vanguard fighters. In fact this might be my first post. But here it goes

Ive been a fan of vanguard for about 6 months now. The first time i went on the vanguard site i say the vanguard fighters banner and i was exited. All i could think is how cool is this Armour. So i came to this site loved it but did not sign up for about 4 or 4 months. Now i work for www.vanguadrradio.com and love working together with all the fan sites and guilds to make the best community for vanguard and everything it has to offer to us. I hope to play vanguard to get some ingame events ready for the vanguard community when this game launches. I also want to make vanguard the best possible and post all the bugs i find so vanguard can fix them. Ive tired every thing to get into beta but have failed miserable(suck so bad could not even find a store to buy computer game mag, don't got any good story's about raiding, bows and i cant draw on thoughs little red pads online). Maybe I'm not good with my words but i hope that this is convincing. Oh and cant forget this going to be a human or orge warrior in vanguard.

Thanks
