The four tanking classes in Vanguard are the Warrior, Paladin, DreadKnight, and Inquisitor (which may not be in at launch). Vanguard is trying to avoid having one class of fighter being seen as the MT above and beyond all others. They have stated that they want it to be situational which one you would prefer.
We also just don't have enough info on the classes to say which may lend itself better to raid tanking. HP's and Mitigation will probably be more of a result of Race (minor), peripheral class buffs(moderate), and gear (major). On the average however, they didn't want any one class to have a huge HP or Mitigation advantage over the others, making it the only desired tank in all scenario's. As far as Zerker's and Monk's go, they are not tank classes but melee dps classes. I have no idea which will do more damage, very little is known about these classes except that monks take advantage of mob weaknesses and can help set up attacks for added damage, while the zerker does more damage as he losses more health, and he can store heals used on him for a later time to use it when he feels he needs it. Go to Silky Venom's website to read up on info concerning monk's and berserker's. Ellestil |

Zerker might not make it in by launch, in which case then monk wins by default
hehehe Other wise, it "should" be they do close enough to the same dps that it will matter more on who has the better gear or situational advantage. That said, conceptually, the berzerker is supposed to be a much harder class to play and in the hands of a talented player/group it very well might do more dps hands down. Of course in the hands of bad player they probably will do less dps. The trade off is ofcourse the berzerker is risking being a hair's bredth from death at any given moment where as the monk can just feign death ![]() |
