Re: Psionicist
Well, another agreement from me. This class looks rather interesting, and the ideas that Sigil has put behind it for the progression is definately a step forward in the monotonous methods of past mmo's.
Regarding the whole exploiting of spoilers and whatnot... I think that is just unavoidable, regardless of what Sigil does to randomize the locations of the "gestalts", or whatever the interviewer person said. If they were to randomize, they would only have so much to chose, and I think that lists of randomized locations would show up within a short while. But I would like the idea to be applied... for far too many people live off spoilers, avoiding the lore, which is the true aspect of these games that far too many avoid. EDIT: Some typos and whatnot. Easier to read without mistakes like that. |

Re: Psionicist
I think theres a balance to be had between outright step by step spoilers and a good player driven site to share knowledge. The later is my goal for Vanguard Spheres. I'd like people to talk and share their experiences with each other here as that primarily promotes community building, something EQ had in spades and a feature that really set it apart from the competition in my opinion.

Re: Psionicist
Hello, New poster here
![]() Just wanted to say i think the ideas Sigils trying to create with the Psionicist are awsome. However, i have some trepidation with the fact that they may only do this nifty and interesting leveling idea with one class. Seems that something similar could be set up as a generality, for all adventurers. But would a warrior need to run across a continent to find a magic spire.... no. Not for any reason I can think of anyway. But i think it would be best to include interesting methods of advancement for all (or at least multiple) of Sigils class' (what IS the plural of class anyway? Classi... classie...class's...class'). We need a "No Class Left Behind" policy... And yah. I know i have horrible spelling *grin* - Im that reason you keep your daughter at home Last edited by Rand : 11-30-2005 at 06:28 PM. |

Re: Psionicist
Could make it that a warrior needed to visit obscure blade masters across the continents to learn long lost fighting forms or whatnot. Theres plenty of ways to tie it all in. We'll have to see if this upcoming media blitz is going to spill any secret sauce related to this.

Re: Psionicist
Another thought about the region advancement might be to have "forks" in the road. Where at some point you can either go to point A or point B and recieve a type of spell. However, you may only choose one, NOT both. As long as both the spells are useful in relation to eachother this would allow for diversity even within a class.
Hmmm, actually i wouldn't mind this for all the classes. . . |

Re: Psionicist
Certainally sounds like a neat plan but it's not really the type of class I would enjoy playing that much. However it does add an interesting depth to the class and I actually wouldn't mind seeing other similar systems in place for some of the other classes of which I might be more interested in playing as. Having a purpose to explore to world is a good thing. When exploring the world helps you grow it is even better.
