Rant: not getting into Vanguard beta!
Apparently there are all kinds of morons that have sent in their beta application and gotten in, yet I haven't been accepted yet. These very intelligent folks go out and post about bugs in the public forums. I've seen at least half a dozen of these types of posts on the Vanguard forums.
I have extensive beta testing experience. I am unemployed, so my schedule is very flexible for testing  I have 20 years of computer experience, and I also have a degree in English, so I know how to describe a problem in words. I should be a shoe-in!But no, neanderthals with better video cards than I must be getting in. I've got a GeForce 6600, an AMD64 3500+, and 2Gigs of RAM, running XP. /Sigh |

(and I must be pretty bored with eq, I've trolled 6 VG fansites at least 5 times each since raid started tonight (about 2 1/2 hours ago) LOL ) |

I think they may be choosing lower end PCs for testing purposes because I too signed up with a high end system similar to yours yet I did not get into the beta. However being in Kuwait now I doubt I will even get to play the released version

I have somewhat of a crappy computer and they did not let me in either. This is all a bunch of crap. People that registered like a day before are being let in and I have been part of the community for a little under a year.

I have 3 options for getting into the beta , the forum, the cgm key and the guild application but so far no luck =( I think they must not like europeans =P

I haven't seen anything on a beta plan in all my trolling, but thats just me. Though if I had to guess I'd say Lightnings idea sounds about right as it fits into the amount of time till release.

I'm a developer and I love having people that have never used or were not part of the development process to test. They usually give me the stack of bug reports that are interface and process hindering requests (load times, repetativeness, etc.). Everyone else lets me know the little/big things that keep them from reaching the goal of the products purpose. Of course, the latter rarely happens :lol:
I didn't get into beta yet either. I'm awaiting on the CGM thing. I dont have the beta experience that most probably have, but i do have a decent computer and loads of computer/programming/developement testing experience and have played lots of MMORPG's. Would be pretty cool though. |
