First off, Rescues aren't like the Taunts from other games that are straight "Top of the Aggro List" types of abilities. Often times they last a range of seconds (3-6) or a number of hits (2). So when you rescue someone, you are forcing any enemies targeting your ally to target you and it has no effect on hate levels apart from any damage dealt or healing agro (unless otherwise stated). You can rescue an MT, take a few hits, and the aggro will bounce back to the MT when the durration of the rescue is over. Secondly, you need not target the mobs that are targeting an ally you rescue for the rescue to work. I have rescued one person and hit 3 or more mobs with 300% weapon damage and pulled aggro from all for an ammount of time. The only restraints are that you are within range of your ally to use the rescue and within range and facing the mobs that are attacking that person (which is point blank in terms of dealing weapon damage). Entwine, on the other hand, doesn't require you to be within range of the mob...only your ally. |
