As a Paladin eq1 and tried one in eq2 but didnt keep him going Ive been through the ringer with them Usually their Summoned Mount is the Slowest horse you can get.
Second a Squire at Higher Levels as a Pet who Can help you Fight as Palys are only Good Against undead is a Great Idea. And yes If they are going to make a Paly Summoned Mount PLEASE make it as Fast as the other Horses lol,its hard to keep up when everyone has a Great Mount and you got a Simple paly mount. And im sure many have said COME ON PALY your Slowing us UP... i know ive heard that enough. |

I'd rather not see a fighter class have a summon companion spell, it doesn't fit at all. The Paladin can have the holy steed, because it's such a classic and I'm sure that other classes will have other abilities to level it out.
Enchanters, Druids, Wizards etc. can have pets and such, but could you really see a berserker calling upon a raven or something? It would just turn all the fighters into beastmasters. The Dread Knight (or Shadow Knight) in EQ had the skeleton just like the necromancer, but I really hope we won't see any of that in Vanguard. Not just because the skeleton was crap and useless, but because it just doesn't fit in the role of a Dread Knight (it's a fighter, not a summoner, enchanter, wizard or magician in any way. The magic he utilises is not as extensive as his friend the necromancer)
