Fanguard Information - Paladins
Darrin McPherson (Talisker) spoke with me today and gave a couple more examples of Paladin Gifts of Virtue. He also spoke briefly about Paladin buffs and auras.
We all know about Lay Hands... but he told me about a Gift of Virtue called "Paragon." Paragon is a powerful buff that lasts for 5 minutes. It raises all of the Paladin's combat stats (Strength, Agility, etc...) to the MAXIMUM for the Paladin's level. He also said that there was a Gift of Virtue that would cleanse all diseases from the Paladin's party. This could definitely be useful in raid situations! Paladin's also have several "auras." They can have one active at a time and they are group buffs that can do things like increase the group members' damage, regeneration, etc... He also confirmed that Paladin buffs WILL stack with healer buffs. Paladins will be resistant to fear. This can make them the preferred tank for raid encounters where the boss fears the tank. That's just one example of the ways Sigil is able to make different tanks the most desirable for certain encounters. |

One thing to remember about the Gifts of Virtue is that they use virtue points... and those regenerate very slowly. Paragon isn't something they are going to be able to do frequently. But it sure looks like it will be a nice boost when they do decide to use it.

Well I played a paladin in DAoC up to level 30 something and I felt like a bard, was just twisting auras as long as mana permitted. The aura lasted longer then the cast time, so you could have 2-3 up at a time. Hopefully isn't the same thing here.
And I pray they dont give us a mana regen aura, that would be scary ![]() |
