Paladin Attributes?
I'm having great difficulty choosing what to allocate my attribute points into. I've been overloading STR and DEX, as CON gives me such minimalistic bonuses. What're you views? Input and discuss.

Re: Paladin Attributes?
Well, I had posted about this somewhere before. IMHO, Dex is the most important attribute for a tank. Max it out. It increases mitigation and gets you higher chance of crits for chains. The remainder I would split between Str and whichever stat increases your resistance. Maybe maxing out str too, but dex is the most important single stat.

Re: Paladin Attributes?
The starting stats of a paladin gives you a hint!... Paladins are Tanks, str is useless, so Max CON and DEX, and put the rest in Vitality.
If you must have strength (for when you are soloing) then have str modifers in your weapons and armor etc. |

Re: Paladin Attributes?
I have a human, so I have 15 points per lvl. I do 5 Dex, 4 Str, 2 Vit and 1 Int/Wis.
Dex again I feel is most important. Str isn't as much, except that dmg equals aggro. The more damage you can do, the more aggro you can get. That makes your early rescue (that does 300% dmg) hit real hard and gain lots of aggro. I usually keep aggro a bit after that, not just the one attack. Vitality is for in combat health regen. This helps with survivability. The more life you get per tick, the longer you will survive. Int and Wisdom don't seem like Pali stats, but you notice they help you recognize combat stances/actions/target of the enemy. That makes our use of rescues easier, we know exactly who is being targeted and I think we get counter attacks at higher lvls too. Now, according to everything I have seen, max CON would only give you an extra 255hp. Because of this, I ignored it, that is nothing. However, I just visited www.paladinsoftelon.com, on their discussion boards, one of the moderators stated they have 200 CON, and a mouseover shows that gives him 390 hp and 20 to all resistances. Not sure of his lvl. But it may be worth it for resistances. But not sure if that is 20% or some other numerical value. |
