High School Football (photography)
In Texas, high school football is a big deal, and class 5A schools are the biggest schools. I took these pictures when the Southlake Carrol Dragon played Lufkin last Saturday for the right to go to the 5A state championship game.
The Dragons won the game (WOOT!) and will be playing for the state championship this Saturday at Texas Stadium (home of the Dallas Cowboys). I'm an amatur photographer who has a nice connection so I get to shoot from the sidelines. ![]() Here's a few from last week's game. These are reduced to 25% size to reduce the file size and make them easier to view (you've gotta love the 8 megapixel camera ) This is a closeup shot of a tackle. I got in a little too tight, but I like the way it came out anyway PHOTOThis one is a Dragon receiver getting tackled right after making a beautiful leaping catch. You'll notice he's completely off the ground. I was pretty amazed I caught this one. PHOTO The last one is a shot of the Dragons QB throwing what turned out to be a 25 yard pass that set up a score shortly afterward. Need to do some sharpening on this one, but it's late so here's the raw shot. PHOTO I'll be on the sidelines again this Saturday. |

The tightness of the shot adds to it's impact in my opinion. |
