Is there anyone out there?
When you look at the activity on the forums it seems like there are only a few people reading and posting. But as we know... appearances can be deceiving
![]() I thought I would share a few items from the server logs here at Vanguard Fighters. These figures/stats cover the past 11 days. We've had 260 unique IP addresses access the site. Some of that is duplicates from people without static IPs, but I would think it's a safe to say that we've had just over 200 people visit the site in the past week and a half. We average 78 visits per day. (A "visit" is when the site is accessed by a unique IP. The visit stays active as long as that IP address loads a page within 30 minutes. If there is no activity for 30 minutes, the visit ends and when that IP address requests a page again it will be counted as a new visit.) Our busiest hour is between 9-10 PM US Central time. Between 1 and 2 AM is our slowest time. We've had 7,206 page views over this period. That comes out to 600 pages viewed per day, and 7.7 pages per visit. Our visitors come from all over. Here is the country breakdown: 74.8% - USA 11.0% - U.K. 6.9% - Canada 1.4% - Germany We have also had visitors from: Spain, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Finland, Czechia, Netherlands, Russian Federation, Norway, France, China, Brazil, Croatia, Italy, India, and Hungary. (Listed in order) California, Washington, Texas, Virginia, and Maryland are where most of our Stateside visitors come from, but we've been visited by 28 states and the District of Columbia. Calgary, Canada is our most active visitor city outside the States, and is the 5th most active city visiting us overall. "APO Armed Forces Europe, Middle East, Canada and United States" comes in 12th. /salute! As for the browser wars... 43.0% IE 6.x 39.6% Firefox 7.7% IE 5.x The rest is a mishmash of other browsers. I know that the site is still young and our traffic isn't going to impress anyone... but I think it is interesting to see who has been coming to visit. |

Those are neat statistics. The computers in my household don't have static IPs, but they will be one of three, so 3 of those from Maryland are me or my fiance. I think he has visited the forums from work at least once as well so that may account for one of the military ones as well... nifty stuff.

I probably "visit" the site 5-10 times a day...
sad... I cycle through my list of sites to troll and probably don't end up coming back for about 30 minutes...10 is probably too much, I would say 5-6 avg per day. -Eclipse

Well, I am prolly the majority of the German stat you see there, and the russian as well. Work IPs are registered through the German gov't. Home internet access is with a german company, but they go through a russian ISP.
So i can account for 2 countries. /flex,. Oh and i vist between 2 and 5 times a day. Fadeyn The First. |

When the NDA is lifted, I'm going to be a busy guy trying to get all the information collected and posted... but until then I'm just trying to collect whatever scraps of information I can find. I expect the site to grow quickly around release time, but until then it's going to be pretty slow at times. The nice thing is that we've got the basis for a great community here on the boards. I'm really looking forward to the exchange of information that is going to be taking place here once we're all playing the game. |

Ahh. Well, the same thing applies to the forums, although to a lesser extent. It's hard to find new things to talk about when we're not playing the game (and if any of us are, they are bound by an NDA not to talk about it) and we're not getting much in the way if new tidbits to speculate on.
I think (hope) that these forums will grow into a larger and more active community once people get into the game. I remember how much I loved the old Steel Warrior forums from EQ when I was playing. I would love for the Vanguard Fighter forums to turn into a place with as much good information being shared among the community as there was on the Steel Warrior. As it stands now, I think we've got a good base of users that are "blazing the trail" so to speak. A year from now we'll be talking fondly about the "old days" when there were only 38 registered users... and we had to post uphill, in heiroglyphics, and we were thankful we had a place to do it! ![]() |
