Gaming Industry: Which Degree?
I'm a pretty big gamer, enjoying all sorts of games since age around age 5. At age 9 i began playing my first MMORPG and been in love ever since, i'm looking into colleges now and i was wondering if anyone could possibly tell me which would be the best degree to start out with game programming? I read that alot of folks from sigil have a computer science degree, so just kind of wondering what would be a good thing to go with it, i have some experience with programming but not much. Thanks

As you most likely very well know, there are many different computer degrees you can aquire through different colleges. Some schools have better programs than others.
As for my advice, think of the colleges you are interested in and get with an advisor there. Ask them about the different types of computer science degrees they have to offer. If they don't seem to have what you are looking for then try for a more specific type of college that caters more for what you are looking for. Just work on getting with an advisor at a college that you are interested in and establish close ties with that person. They are a college student's best friend when it comes to deciding on a degree and major and so forth. |
