Gaming computer idiot here thinking of buying
I'm not one that can or will build my own machine. Installing a video card is about the limit of my computer building skills and that is a stretch sometimes.
If I buy the following off the shelf, will it run VG adequately? I'm kinda' worried about Vista on new machines too. Processor Brand Intel® Core(TM) 2 Duo Desktop Processor Speed 2.67GHz System Bus 1066MHz Cache Memory 4MB on die Level 2 System Memory (RAM) 2GB Type of Memory (RAM) PC5300 DDR2 Hard Drive Type SATA (7200 rpm) Hard Drive Size 400GB Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS Video Memory 320MB Audio Integrated high-fidelity surround sound Network Card Built-in 10/100/1000 MBps Gigabit Ethernet interface (RJ-45 connector) DVD-ROM/CD-RW Combo Drive Speeds 16x DVD-ROM; 52x32x32 CD-RW Total Expansion Slots 2 PCI, 1 PCI-E x1, 2 PCI-E x16 Available Expansion Slots 1 PCI, 1 PCI-E x1, 1 PCI-E x16 Windows Vista *ugg* I currently have a 2.75 ghz with 2 gig of ram. A 7800 GS? video card. VG is almost unplayable in groups on it, although it does ok if I only solo. I've done all the tweeks in the ini 101 thread. |

Re: Gaming computer idiot here thinking of buying
machine specs look very nice!
If this is the kind of spec people are looking at nowadays then it wont be long before everyone can play very nicley ![]() Im still stuck trying to justify going to 2gig. VG Runs just fine on 1gig.. well, I know it would LOVE 2gig.. but im still on a 3.4 P4 and would love a duo core, so that means motherboard and chip!... maybe even a quad core if I can stretch it. |
