See yellow textures, then 800 x 600 4 bit

I am playing vanguard then see yellow textures, then game crashes. My monitor resolution is stick at 800x600 4 bit colors, and its stuck that way. I off course restart and all is fine. Has anyone else seen this it just started occurring but is very frustrating.

Its only done this twice but did it today and a couple of days ago.

Specs:

AMD 64X2 4200+
Nvidia 8800 GTS 97.92's
2GB DDR2 400 RAM

Are you saying that your monitor resolution is stuck at 8x6 and 4 bit after this crash, or that it's always like that?

I've been having the same problem. Sometimes when I go to a broker, or try to open up my settings, through the options button, my resolution freaks out, flashes to 800x600, then leaves narly yellow stripes all over the screen. I've crashed only a few times from this happening, I figured out a simple solution so that you won't crash.

Set-up a hotbutton for /flush. As soon as it starts to happen, click your flush button, and it'll take a few seconds but it will go back to normal, and you won't crash. Still annoying, but at least you won't ctd.

Ok I will try it, yet i see yellow textures on buildings, rocks game etc. then game goes to desktop and my dekstop looks hosed since its only running on 4 colors and 800x600
