I found an article via [H]ardOCP today about the new 90nm Nvidia card that will be the flagship next summer. If you want to read the article it is here. Gogo NV50 I want specs!~ I have read in other places that this chip had been scrapped but it appears to be a go. Have further info? I want to know!

I take your word for it .. Think I have lost the plot when it come to graphics jargon. I read and it goes in one ear and out the other. The computer industry seems to be following the cosmetics industry in its invention of meaningless jargon.

Definitely alot of vocabulary. Perhaps that could be something Neatton does a little feature on. Some of the technologies in video cards these days and what they mean to the consumer in laymans terms.

I'd wait to see a price on that. 90nm allows them to reduce the price, however, they are apparently using a new ram type which will run at double the speed of the current ram, allowing for a huge increase in processing power. That leap may not come cheaply.

90nm will allow them to reduce the cost. Price is just going to be a result of the supply/demand forces in the market.

Companies lead us to believe that cheaper production costs means we are going to save money but that just is not the case. Cheaper production costs do benefit consumers but in other ways. The company will profit more per item and those profits will be partially used as capital to create better products in the future.

Keep in mind that is just in general and some companies can break out and actually keep same profits with lower costs in order to build brand loyalty and marketability.
