Do you plan on using Windows Vista?

I was just curious how many of you out there plan on upgrading to Windows Vista? I have heard good and bad things but mostly that it is similar to XP with some added features. Anyone out there in the Vista beta have anything to add to the mix? i have tried to legitimately get my hands on it but alas no luck

I think i'll try it out, maybe dedicate a partition to it, actually my friend might have beta i'm not certain, i'll have to check

Normally I try to avoid new operating systems until after the first service pack but I would like the ability to use extra memory. My system is for my 3d Max work as well as games so the faster the machine the better for my work. My current client demands massive 3D models which result in disk thrashing and thats with 1.5 gig mem.

I'll probably be dual booting until Vista stabilizes but once it does I'll migrate without even thinking twice. Vista's vertex rendering technology alone is worth doing it in my opinion. It makes the OS much more responsive and customizable. There was a good preview in Maximum PC a few months back that had more detail about Vista in it but its at home right now so I cant reference it at the moment.

I will be doing my usual cascade this machine will remain under xp professional . my current 2nd best PC will go into store and my 3rd best will have its hard disks removed and destroyed then sent to the rubbish tip.

I'm almost embarrased to admit that I have no idea what Windows Vista is.

I suppose admitting it is the first step, right?

What makes Windows Vista better then the Windows XP that I use now?

Its actually the next step not the first step. Vista is the successor to Windows XP and should be on shelves sometime next year.

I big one is the support for 64bit procs instead of 32 that wizdows xp offers. For me though Unless m$oft makes it cheaper then I expect I will stick will xp for a long time .

I will wait on the new operating system, unless there is a big advantage to using it.
