Video driver problem
Okay I'm having problems now. I'm still using my old GPU (thanks Ebuyer for screwing up my order) the Radeon 9700 PRO.
I don't recall which version driver I was running before (stupid me, I forgot to check before updating), but I've tried the 6.5 driver version and the latest driver version, both of them make my PC restart when I play Vanguard. The first time (with the 6.5 driver version), I got an error dialog saying that the video card/driver was the problem. So I completely uninstalled the driver as per the instructions on the AMD/ATi site, then I installed the latest driver version after restarting. The problem is still there, except for now that I don't get error dialogs when my PC restarts. The problem only happens when I play Vanguard. I did make sure that the previous driver version was completely uninstalled (followed the instructions on the AMD/ATi site) so I don't think that's the problem. Now going to try the 7.1 driver version because someone in my guild said they were using a Radeon 9800 PRO with that driver version. If this fails, I don't know what to do other than test every single driver.... boring. Any ideas? |

Try going to www.omegadrivers.net and getting their drivers. Works fine for me on 5 different computers (well 4, since 1 card fried the other day...so got a new 7600GT).

I'll second that. I've been using Omega drivers for a couple of years now on my ATI card, and they seem to be, for me, a great deal more stable than the official drivers ever were.
YMMV, of course.
