A memory leak is a problem where a program starts a ram process, but never lets go of it, even when it doesn't need the ram anymore. So, if a process was to get values a, c, and k, perform a function, then drop them, but instead, it only dropped a and k, you'd have a memory leak.

The next time the process is called, the same thing happens, and eventually, your ram is busy holding a whole lot of c vaules.

Testing for this, however, is difficult. Good leak testing tools are either very expensive or require you to be a programmer to use them.

Probably the easiest way to test is it to take out a stick or two and see if it happens much faster.
