Generic Software
Ok is there any reason why since release I am only able to select the Generic Software driver for audio? I was running hardware all during Beta. I have a Creative SB PCI 512 (yes I know, old card but been a trooper for me) that detects as a SB Live! Basic in Windows 2000.
Anyone else notice this quirk? |

Re: Generic Software
If it worked in hardware before, I don't see why you'd want to run out and buy another one so quickly. Have you pulled it out and reinstalled it (as well as nuked and reinstalled some of Creative's fabulous drivers?

Re: Generic Software
Well, my card is so old that it is beyond its service life according to Creative. I don't trust the drivers I installed because they detect my card as something other than it is. I am sure I will find another computer that needs my old sound card so its not a big deal to me.
