Re: Vanguard Recommended Drivers for Supported Cards

I updated my driver from 91.31 to 91.47 and my fps went down, but it seems that things look a little sharper. I'll play with it for a while before I decide to rollback to my old driver. I also had a lock up on high quality lastnight, first time that's happened to me in this game. I used to get a lot of hard lock ups in EQII, but I think I've got my system more stable now.

Which link? They still work for me?

And they posted this on the VG help desk last Friday, so it's only a week old.

We have seen issues with older cards get resolved with older drivers.

Still, if you're finding the newer drivers are working better, then by all means, stay with them.

My new card is a ATI Radeon X1950 Pro. So should I go for the driver below?

Nice card as well, thanks Nil.

Hard to say. This is the recommended driver, so you can start there. Hopefully, this weekend, I'll actually get a chance to play (work, ugh - and my family expects my time as well - the nerve! :P) and I can tell you which works better for me.

Re: Vanguard Recommended Drivers for Supported Cards

Hmmm, I just used the Catalyst 6.5 driver for my 9700 PRO and I had a system restart within minutes of playing the game, with an error message saying my video card was the culprit.
