A friend of mine is selling his rig at a fairly good (a lil bit more than 50%) price,will you recommend it.I have until tonight to give him an answer.

motherboard: ABIT AN8 SLi
memory: 2 X 512 Kingston HyperX & 2 X 512 PDP Patriot - total 2gb CAS 2 for both @ 433MHz
graphics: 2 X 7800GT 256Mb (Xpertvision)
audio: Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Music
psu: Coolermaster Real Power 550W

That's nearly exactly what Pirotess has. It'll run things pretty darn well - and since it's SLI, you probably want to find a way to run it in Hi-Res.

If I may ask, how much is he asking for it?

No. The only problem with two different types of ram is that if one is faster than the other, it has to slow down to the speed of the fastest ram. This is usually not a problem.

And assuming you trust this guy not to pawn bad crud off on you, jump on that offer. $750 is a steal for that rig.

Make sure you get the Windows disk along with it so you can reformat when you get it. (that, or purchase WinXP Pro on your own.

Another gig of Ram and a new video card would not hurt. Unless you don't mind really low frame rate.

That depends on how you want to run it.

If you don't mind low graphical settings, it'll run it pretty decently. If you add the other gig of ram, then you'll probably be 5-15 fps.

Not well. I had an Intel P4 2.4Ghz, 1GB RAM and a FX5500. I cried. Then I upgraded and fast.

Running Pentium D 2.8Ghz - 1GB RAM and 7600GT. Total upgrade cost (not including the headache of re-installing my OS. Bite ME XP!) around $300.

I get 30-50 FPS highway 20-25 City. I am happy and not broke.
