New OS from Microsoft....
A thought just occured to me and it caused me to wonder. I know just enough to be dangerous so that makes me question everything lol.
Microsoft will be coming out with a new OS soon called "Vista". It has been on the edge of my radar - i know about it but not thinking too much about it. Every OS that appears has different (usually better) specifications and all software usually works on it, except if the software has gained ancient status lol (usually 3 to 5 years in age). Question one: Ok, that being said, will Vista cause any problems, issues, glitches, bugs, etc... for Vanguard?? I am just sitting here hoping that maybe someone made a phone call to microsoft and asked that question... Question two: Have they been testing dual core processors and how they affect the game and gameplay?? I have noticed that eq2 does not work well with dual core and i have to manually choose which processor it works on - kinda hoping they fix that with vanguard. Not to make me remove a processor but make it work with both. I hope that is not a too new technology that no one knows how to adjust for. lol just bought a 24" monitor and 2 more gigs of Ram!! I now am ready for Vanguard!!! lol gamebox please..... If i am just forgetting some thread reply somewhere just point me in the right direction please. The flickering wasnt so bad as to make things unplayable but it was annoying getting a flicker or texture scramble every 20-30 seconds.

Re: New OS from Microsoft....
agreed
a trifecta - Microsoft / Intel / AMD = at gunpoint around the table, the gunman says "FIX THIS!!!!" should take 2 days - half a day to fix, the remainder to argue who gets to tell the world and how much to charge. |

Re: New OS from Microsoft....
A few people have tried VG with Vista, and most have it working without a problem. You do get degraded performance, however, due to current video drivers.
Better to wait for a while.

Re: New OS from Microsoft....
I have a Vista system with DX10. Vanguard complains that DX9 is missing so havent tried playing. I can imagine other problems if I could get past that.
Seriously considering installing XP on it. Actually I have some old DOS installation diskettes - now that was a stable platform. Reckon it'll work? ![]() |
