Performance PC...
How are refurbished Dells... lately I hear a lot of people badmouthing them... and I know Dell has never been very l337 in the gaming community. I bought a top-line XPS real cheap last year. Wondering if it'd be a good idea to do that for VG. Keep in mind the following:
* I'm not very hardware savy (I don't want to assemble the comp) * I'm on a limited budget (lookin for $1200 PC, tops) I'm currently using a 3.4ghz, 1gig ram, 160 GB HD, NVIDIA GeForce 6800, and soundblaster audigy 2. Nothing amazing by current standards... should I bother upgrading to something else, though? |

Re: Performance PC...
with 2 gig of RAM you could probably run Vsoh fine, I'm not that technically savvy myself at first but the more I read the more I learn. Reasonablly you could make a new PC with core duo processor for around 1200 bucks easy. You probably won't want to do that tho when you could just upgrade your ram for alot less and be quite content. You might want to wait for one of the masters of this to respond tho, Neatton, Nil, and Pirotess.

Re: Performance PC...
Yea I agree unless that rig is starting to not give you the performance your looking for anymore id just upgrade. That is not the wrost machine in the world and im sure if you took it to a local computer store they could give it an oomph for much less then your budget.

Re: Performance PC...
RAM upgrade to 2gigs and a video card upgrade would be plenty sufficient. Could do both for under $500 right now.

Agreed, you still got some Punch in that Rig,just need to give it a lil more leather/BITE
RAM = Leather VideoCard=BITE If anything you want more would be to go with some COOLING with say heatpipes for the CPU and your still in the top machines list with a lil OCing and some Tweeks. for you NON savy guys theres TONS of Readmes out there. |
