Ageia+Mmos in general

So...what are all your opinions on the new "ppu" by ageia (http://ageia.com/)
For $300, no way...Im not buying...when it goes down to $150, well see.
And anyway...does anyone know if sigil is making vgsoh in a manner that the ppu card would have a $300 value impact on the overall gameplay....the thing that makes me question at all if it is going to be good or not for mmos in general is that each client that everyones playing on should all be able to see the same thing...that wouldnt seem right to know that theres someone with 10x more debree on their screen.

So yeah...whats your opinion on the ppu, and does anyone think vgsoh will be using it to make the game even better?

i would think that you would have to judge the cost by the value of the new graphics upon ur system and that would depend on whether u actually need a new graphics card yet. the devs are making and playing the game with 4 to 6 gigs of ram but say that 1 will be fine to play. On that note i would not buy a new graphics card just because someone says the game that is not out yet will be awesome with that card - ur current card will probly be just fine.

In my personal opinion these cards are for eye candy and at least right now are only making action games look better. We will see what they do in the future if there is one. They will go away quickly if there is not some gaming benefit to them soon beside "more debree"

Brad has said they are programming Vanguard to take advantage of them but I think its going to be a year or two before we really see the benefit of a physics card in an MMO.
